Description
A rustic and comfortable Bed and Breakfast nestled in the middle of 40 acres of pine and cedar trees. We are located on the shores of beautiful Huffman Lake about halfway between Gaylord and Boyne Mountain in Northern Michigan. Relax in this nature lovers paradise where hospitality is our main concern. Take a few extra minutes and find an exciting experience off the beaten track at Hoods In The Woods.
The original “cabin” was started in 1954 and constructed by the owner. Logs were cut by hand from the property. Necessary milling was completed at a nearby sawmill. All cobblestones used in the massive fireplace were collected by hand. Although the “cabin” has been remodeled several times, the original interior log work and fireplace remain unchanged. It was originally designed as a hunting and ski lodge. Nature and wildlife abound in this quiet and secluded woodland setting.
Hoods In The Woods offers two bedrooms, a sitting room and bathroom in a suite reserved exclusively for our guests. One bedroom overlooks beautiful Huffman Lake and the other has a view of a brook and woods. A separate entrance and stairway has been provided for guest use to the second floor accommodations.
