Chateau Chantal is a 65-acre estate located on the Old Mission Peninsula in one of the most scenic areas of the Great Lakes. It is a unique destination that combines vineyards and winery, a bed & breakfast, winding roads, fresh air and kind company. All of which serve to create a retreat into the Old World.
The Grand Traverse area has long been coveted as a favorite vacation spot. Chateau Chantal has been designed not only to complement the scenic environment, but to offer tours, wine tasting, seasonal entertainment, year-round lodging, and over twelve hand-crafted wines that are in keeping with the area's growing reputation for exceptional hospitality, fine foods, and superb wines. The Chateau sits high atop a ridge near the northern end of the Old Mission Peninsula and offers stunning views of Lake Michigan's Grand Traverse Bays.
Old Mission Peninsula's primary industries are cherry and grape growing. Our vineyard development began in 1983. Sweet and tart cherry orchards were replaced with grafted grape vines of the vinifera species - the same type grown along other parts of the 45th parallel in the Bordeaux region of France. Acreage is planted with Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Gewürztraminer, Merlot, even Pinot Meunier for a champagne blend, plus others. Our award winning wines are produced under our winemaker's meticulous supervision. Because of Michigan's varied weather patterns, you will find a wide variety of wines - from very dry to lightly sweet, produced from the same vineyard blocks. We are determined to allow the grape to dictate the style - a many splendored performance!
Tasting Hours
Chateau Chantal is open daily all year. Tastings are free and open to the public. They are held in the Chateau's great room or in the wine cellar.
Sundays Year -round 12 - 5 p.m.
Mid June thru August Monday-Saturday 11am-8pm
September thru October Monday-Saturday ,11am-7pm
November thru Mid June Monday-Saturday, 11am-5 pm
Winery Tours
Customized group tours for large groups are available by prior arrangement, please phone us in advance. Otherwise we offer tours during summer: Mid June - August on the hour at 1, 2, & 3 p.m.

Our B&B rates include private bath, a full breakfast, access to the Chateau's great room, fireplace and wine tasting bar, the coziness of a private retreat and breathtaking views. Our guests are very special, we want you to enjoy your stay to the fullest!
Rates:
Suites: $170-195/night; Queen-size rooms: $135-165/ night
Exec. Apt. $375 Sun-Thur. or $425 Fri-Sat, 2 night min.
Rates are based on double occupancy, add $25 per day for each additional guest over 3 years of age, a 6% Michigan Sales tax and a 2% Room tax are additional. The Executive Apartment requires a two night stay minimum. All units have a two night minimum on weekends (Friday/Saturday booked together). Prices subject to change.
